Chamorro Red Rice


		Red Rice; Hineksa Agaga Traditional Chamorro dish from the island of Guam. The red rice can be served with any meat, poultry or fish dish.

Ingredients		2 cups rice 2 tablespoons achote seeds 2 cups water 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 teaspoons salad oil 1/2 cup chopped onions

Directions		Rinse and soak achote seeds in 1/2 cup warm water and salt for about 30 minutes. Rub achote seeds to get coloring; strain into a small bowl. Saute onions in salad oil until onions are tender. Add remaining 1 1/2 cups water and 1/2 cup achote water (coloring); bring to a boil; then reduce heat to low temperature for 15 minutes. Serves 2 to 4. Can also be cooked in rice cooker.

Island Warriors Football

Island Warriors Youth & Adult Football Program

The Island Warriors Youth Football Club is seeking youth players for the SNYSA (Middle School League) this fall. The Warriors will have 2 teams, one team of 7th and 8th graders and one for players in grades 4, 5 & 6.
