About Aloha Valley

Who We Are

Aloha Valley is based in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. We bring the Pacific Ocean to the Mojave Desert. We are a small web 'ohana (family), made up of "Da Webmastah" and a few volunteer staff members. Francis Paul Ganon, "Da Webmastah" A.K.A. "Puna" or "Punaboy", invisioned the concept of providing Las Vegas Pacific Islanders a community portal to obtain information and ways to keep in touch with the islands.

In March of 2002 AlohaValley.com started out as a part-time hobby site. Today, just a short time later we have more than quadrupled our content and Internet presence. Proudly, we have become Southern Nevada's & Las Vegas' Premier Pacific Island Community Resource Center.

What We Strive For

We are proud to share our Aloha Spirit, our island culture, and our lifestyle and traditions. We want everyone to know who we are, what we're about.

Our focus is to deliver an accurate assessment of the island lifestyle and culture as we know it. You won't find any plastic leis, fake tikis or mai tais here. It's all real, life as we know and live.

How We Accomplish Goals

We offer both local and remote content to deliver information. Local content includes any article, audio, or video clip shot and edited by Aloha Valley. Remote content includes any article, audio, or video from a third party.

Reasons To Be Here

It is vital that we continue the preservation of our way of life, for ourselves and our keiki (children). We are dedicated to providing resources and information pertaining to our Pacific Island heritage and culture. We are in existence to spread the Aloha Spirit and share our "9th Island" Las Vegas culture & community with all. We feel it is necessary that we share our culture and show our Aloha Spirit to everyone worldwide. We hope you find our website informative as well as entertaining.

AlohaValley.com works along side several different organizations to provide the best resources available. This is only possible because of you, our visitor.

Although it now requires many hours to maintain and provide our services, we are very pleased with our progress. We actually enjoy what we do. We look forward to a bright future and being a huge part of the Las Vegas community.

Here For You

We are here for all Pacific Islanders, Hawaiians, "Locals" and "Hawaiians-at-Heart" to enjoy; everyone! We invite ALL to come experience the Aloha.

There are many Hawaiians, former Hawaii "Local" residents, and Pacific Islanders who have relocated to southern Nevada. This also includes the vast array of nationalities and races that live in the Aloha State of Hawai'i (i.e. - Japanese, Filipino, Samoan, Chinese, Portuguese, Puerto Rican, Chamorro, Tongan, Haole, Popolo, etc.). Our intent is to "comfort" and ease the transition of newly transplanted islanders and to keep long time mainland residents in touch with the "Island Style" and "Local Ways".

Las Vegas is also home to many other indigenous islanders as well; Samoan's, Chamorro's (Guam), Maori (Aotearoa - New Zealand), Fijian's, Tahitian, Asian Pacific Islands and others. While we are not experts in those cultures we do try to provide information about their heritage and tradition.
