Nippon Cinema's Honoka'a Boy
Japan - Teen actor Masaki Okada plays the leading role in a Nippon Cinema movie called "Honokaa Boy," directed by Atsushi Sanada. The Japanese film takes place in the town of Honoka'a on the Big Island's Hamakua Coast.
Okada plays a love-scorned, brokenhearted college student who travels to the Big Island where he matures through his encounters. Meeting various people, he falls in love with an older woman played by Jun Hasegawa.
The film also features Japanese stars Keiko Matsuzaka and Chieko Baisho who play supporting characters. Nippon Cinema's "Honokaa Boy will open in Japan theaters on March 14, 2009.
