On location at the Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club's 19th Annual Ho'olaule'a Pacific Islands Festival. Pu'ukani of Pipeline2Paradise.com and The Little Grass Shack Hawaiian Radio talks story with traditional Hawaiian music artist Faith Ako. Faith's second CD release Papaku, Bring It Home features the best of traditional Hawaiian music.
Faith Ako grew up in Hawaii. Coming from a large Polynesian family (and the youngest of fifteen children), music naturally has been a big part of Faith's family traditions and cultural heritage. Singing in the home and at church formed a solid foundation of my passion for music. When Faith moved to California in the early 80's she really began to appreciate Hawaiian music. Now, residing in the Bay Area Faith has been blessed with a solo career and musical talents.
FAITH AKO:
Traditional Hawaiian music is making its way back and is reviving its people and senses to what was once lost in the music scene. Personally, my goal is to help preserve and promote traditional music of the Hawaiian people.
