The annual picnic for Congress at the White House gets island flavor; Hawaiian Style, Local Style.
Washington D.C. - The White House lawn looked more like a Waikiki hotel poolside luau as members of Congress and family were treated to a Hawaiian luau. Adorned with grass huts, tiki torches, pineapples, palm trees, and flower leis, the themed annual picnic was to celebrate President Obama's home state of Hawaii.
Luau menu featured traditional luau foods such as kalua pig & lomi lomi salmon which was prepared by famed Hawaii chef Alan Wong. Live Polynesian entertainment provided the crowd of 2000 hours of amusement.
