Hawai'i Air National Guard F-15 Crashes

A F15 fighter jet belonging to the Hawai'i Air National Guard crashed into Hawaiian waters approximately 60 miles south of O'ahu Friday February 1, shortly after 1:30 pm, HST.

The fighter pilot ejected moments before the aircraft plunged into the ocean. He was picked up by US Coast Guard helicopter about 40 minutes after the crash and taken to Queen's Medical Center. He did not suffer any major injuries and is expected to fully recover.
