Little League World Series
Two Pacific Island Little League Baseball teams advance to the 2008 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, PA.
Representing the West region is the Waipio Little League team out of Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii.
The last time a Hawaii team qualified for the Little League World Series was in 2005 when Ewa Beach (West Oahu) won the Little League World Series Championship.
Also making the tournament & representing the Aisa-Pacific region is the team from Yona, Guam, Southern Guam.
The Little League Baseball World Series will be played from August 15-24, 2008. All 32 games of the 16 team tourney will be televised on ABC, ESPN & ESPN2, check your local listings.

Pool Play:
Game 3 - Waipio (West) beat Connecticut (New England) on Friday, August 15, 3-1.
Game 6 - Guam (Asia-Pacific) beat Italy (Europe) on Saturday, August 16, 7-6.
Game 14 - Waipio (West) beat Tampa (Southeast) on Sunday, August 17, 10-2.
Game 16 - Guam (Asia-Pacific) lost to Matamoros (Mexico) on Monday, August 18, 10-0.
Game 17 - Waipio (West) beat Rapid City (Midwest) on Monday, August 18, 6-4.
Game 23 - Guam (Asia-Pacific) lost to Curacao (Caribbean) on Tuesday, August 19, 3-0.
Game 26, US Semifinals - Waipio (West) beat Washington (Northwest) on Wednesday, August 20, 9-4.
Game 30, US Finals - Waipio (West) beat Louisiana (Southwest) on Saturday, August 23, 7-5.
Game 30, Series Finals - Waipio (West) beat Mexico (International Champ) on Sunday, August 24, 12-3.
- Guam finishes pool play with a 1-2 record. No advancement.
- Waipio finishes pool play with a 3-0 record. Advances to US Semifinals.
- Waipio wins US Semifinals and advances to US Finals.
- Waipio wins US finals, advances to Championship game.
- Waipio win the 2008 Little League World Championship!
