Waipio To Represent the West

Oahu Hawaii's Waipio Little League beat Henderson Nevada's Paseo Verde to win the West Region Championship and advances to the 2008 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, PA.

Waipio upset Paseo Verde 4-3 in the West Region Championship held on August 10 at Al Houghton Stadium in San Bernardino, California. Waipio was able to get four hits in the tough battle, three of the hits went for homeruns.

The last time a Hawaii team qualified for the Little League World Series was in 2005 when Ewa Beach (West Oahu) won the Little League World Series Championship.

The Little League Baseball World Series will be played from August 15-24, 2008. All 32 games of the 16 team tourney will be televised on ABC, ESPN & ESPN2, check your local listings.
