The Waipio Little League upset Henderson, Nevada's Paseo Verde 4-3 in the West Region Championship to represent the West at the 2008 Little League Baseball World Series held at Williamsport, PA.
Waipio went undefeated in pool play (Pool B) with a 3-0 record beating Connecticut (New England) 3-1, Tampa (Southeast) 10-2, and Rapid City (Midwest) 6-4.
Sitting at the top of Pool B, Waipio advanced to the US Semifinals and beat Washington (Northwest) by the score of 9-4.
Waipio entered the US Championship game facing a tough Louisiana (Southwest) squad, but were able to pull out a victory 7-5.
In the overall Championship Waipio was able to put points on the board in all six innings to beat International powerhouse Mexico (Matamoros) 12-3.
