UH vs SMU in the 2009 football season? It could become reality.
Navy was contracted to open at Aloha Stadium for the start of the 2009 season, but UH Athletic Director Jim Donovan reached an agreement with Navy that will allow the Midshipmen to move the game to Nov. 21, 2009 instead.
The change in schedule has allowed the possibility for a Warriors vs Mustangs match-up. There are talks between UH and SMU for the highly anticipated game. The NCAA has a 12 game regular-season limit except for The University of Hawaii (13 game) and teams that play the Warriors at Aloha Stadium.
Former UH Warriors coach June Jones left Hawaii to coach the SMU Mustangs.
