UFC 135 Mark Hunt

UFC 135: Mark Hunt vs Ben Rothwell

Big Shaka goes out to MMA Heavyweight Mark Hunt, the 37 year old Samoan from New Zealand.  Hunt defeated Ben Rothwell at UFC 135 going the distance coming out on top with a unanimous decision.  The UFC bout was one of those "sluggish heavyweight matches" with both fighters running out of steam and gasping for air in the mile high city of Denver.

Nevertheless it was a great victory for Hunt, whose career nears the end.  Hunt is a former K-1 World Champion and a standout Pride fighter. Braddah can still scrap!

Warriors Football Back On Track

Finally!  After a two game skid on the mainland, coming up short against Washington and a lackluster performance in Las Vegas the University of Hawaii Warriors got off their okoles (asses) with a victory.  Even though their 56-14 rompin' over UC Davis at Aloha Stadium wasn't against a powerhouse opponent it gave the players and coaches a chance to fine tune their skills.

I watched the game online from da 9th Island of Las Vegas via WatchESPN.com (ESPN3).  It was so refreshing to see the Warriors have fun!  Game was over at halftime, 49-0.  Moniz set a UH record and tied an NCAA mark by throwing seven touchdown passes during the first half. Chee Hoo!

No worries off-island Warrior fans, next game at Louisiana Tech will be broadcasted online.
